One of the most chronic diseases during childhood is tooth decay, and almost 40% of children go through this. The problem is the ''Causal Behaviour.'' We tend to take our bodies seriously, but when it comes to keeping up with our teeth' health, we ignore it or take it for granted, and this is the same practice we use for our kids.

Children with tooth decay go through tremendous pain, because of which they end up missing their school, fun, events, etc.

Here we have curated essential don't for keeping your child's teeth healthy:

Do not ignore the brushing process

No doubt, kids love to feel independent after a certain age. However, when it comes to brushing, you should not ideally leave your child alone entirely. From time to time, you must keep monitoring the way they have been brushing.

You should know that more than 50% of the people to date do not brush properly. To be effective with brushing, every tooth needs to be brushed out so that the tooth's dirt washes away. Parents need to be involved with the brushing process for kids who are younger than six years old.

Do not skip going to the dentist

When it comes to our teeth, we generally take things very lightly and skip going to the dentist. Children at their young age have very delicate teeth, and the way their teeth are taken care of becomes the basis of how strong their teeth will be. Young children should visit a dentist at least once every six months to get a regular check-up done. Visiting the dentist for regular check-ups is considered the best way to catch all the problems early and then prevent them from growing.

Do not skip fluoride

When it comes to protecting the teeth from decay, then fluoride plays an essential role. Although an excess of anything is bad, the same way excess usage of fluoride leads to fluorosis. However, you could commit a blunder if you entirely avoid fluoride.

All you require is to use a toothpaste that has fluoride in it. Here the trick is straightforward, just to use a tiny bit. Children below the age of 3 require not even 1% of fluoride but post three; they need a little more.

Do not give sticky sweets to the kids often

It is a universal truth that sugar is extremely bad for health, and it has a very negative effect on the functioning of the teeth. Sticky sweets such as caramel, candy, toffee, gummy bear, dried fruits are not very tooth-friendly. It is best to avoid such snacks, as they get badly stuck in the tooth, and then it becomes challenging to get rid of them. Also, it is not like kids can never have them; they can always do but occasionally. Don't make it a regular practice.

Do not skip brushing

Due to the hectic lives, we have been living in; it does become challenging to keep up with our little ones' health. With multiple chores on our shoulders, sometimes we skip about brushing. The only goal of ours then becomes to tuck our little one into the bed.

To prevent cavities, the only secret is regular brushing. Although, as per experts, brushing should occur after every meal, since that isn't possible, it should be done at least two times a day.
